 GRANDPA'S CARPENTER'S SAW

One more time forsaken tool that belonged to wife's Grandpa, who was a carpenter btw, and was found in the old spider infested basement....

Disassembled cleaned painted and polished...Restored to preserve the memories of an era and its craftsmen who did a lot with a lot less.

 GRANDPA'S PICK-HAMMER

This mini pick-hammer was found in an old carpentry storage basement that belonged to my wife's grandpa amongst other tools I will be showcasing later on. The handle was broken and held at it's place with the help of a piece of wire. the metal part was in a bad shape too.

The tool was taken apart.

The old handle and nails were thrown away. A new handle was made from the leg of an old armchair and the head was cleaned and sharpened.

Assembled tool below.

The handle was decorated with black paracord. I used a whipping knot ending it to a bowline knot for hanging.

 WELCOME

In this blog I will start publishing my creations and restorations. In the beginning I will be publishing photos and/or videos of projects already finished. After that I will try to cover current projects in a daily basis. The goal is mainly to keep a record of my work and maybe help in inspiring fellow crafters and restorers. I am not a professional, just a hobbyist who gets satisfied working with his hands and mind. I make great efforts to preserve - restore the original parts of the piece at hand regardless if it will be fully functional after finishing it.

Have a nice stay and remember practice makes perfect!!

MONKEY FIST JIG

A jig artistically decorated, made from scrap materials,  for creating inspired monkey fist knots!!

All art is hand made/drawn and this is the first time "cJk" is  implemented as my logo/initials.

The monkey face is not my conception (I've just drawn it) instead i found a pic somewhere in the net :P so credits go to the initial designer. Happy knotting!!

DOOR STOP (HODOR)

A door stop/wedge made from scrap wood, scrap leather and a pyrographer.

 BRACELET JIG

A few hours build using scrap wood. The result is ergonomic and useful in creating all sizes of bracelets with paracord or not.

Measure the wrist circumference and adjust the jig using the ruler shown in the pictures.
